What we collect

When you sign up: your email address. When you use the Service: the videos, images, comments, drawings, and files you upload, plus basic usage logs (which pages you visited, when, from what IP/browser). We don't use ad-tracking pixels.

How we use it

To operate the Service. That's it. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or train AI models on your videos or comments.

Where it lives

Your account + database lives in Supabase (Postgres, region us-east). Your media files live in Cloudflare R2. Transcoded deliverables live in Cloudflare Stream. The web app runs on Vercel. Email is sent via Resend.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in (Supabase auth) and localStorage to remember UI preferences (sort order, sidebar collapse, the welcome-tour dismissal flag, your starred videos — all on your device only). No third-party tracking cookies.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics for aggregate page-view counts. It does not collect identifying information about individual visitors. We log uncaught client-side errors to a private database so we can fix bugs you hit; these include the URL + browser version but no body content.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, request that we delete your account and all associated content, or correct any information we hold about you, by emailing hello@alannotes.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

Children

Alan is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We don't knowingly collect data from anyone in that age group.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we'll email you at the address on file with at least 30 days' notice.
